Electrical Maintenance Technician

Contract: Healthcare

Location: Reading, RG30 4EJ

Hours of work: 37.5

Contract Type: Permanent

We are hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician for our site at Prospect Park Hospital.

Although you will be primarily employed on maintenance tasks, some new installation work will be required.

This work could involve installing conduit, MICC or trunking-based distribution, or a combination of all these, and/or plant and equipment.

Job Description

The main functions of this post are to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance and diagnosing and repairing faults within Prospect Park Hospital.

You shall from time to time be the liaison person where specialist works are undertaken on the LV systems.

Key Responsibilities

The main duties include the maintenance of building fabric and services, which include the following:

Lighting and lighting circuits (including emergency lighting);
Power circuits;
Low voltage switchgear;
Fire alarm systems;
Emergency generators and associated switchgear;
Battery systems;
Fire extinguishers and fire fighting equipment;
Air conditioning equipment and controls;
Heating controls boiler controls and associated equipment;
Portable equipment;
Nurse calls systems;
Laundry equipment & cleaning machines;
You should have a good understanding of the work of all other trades, which is essential to maintain the flexibility of the department.
You may be asked to perform other tasks as and when required by management.
You must be capable of reading and understanding electrical installation plans and drawings.
You must be willing to attend courses as and when required.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Must have FM site experience and completing PPMs and Reactive works across various different electrical systems
Fully qualified electrician, 18th Edition, NVQ/C&G Electrical Installations
