The day-based multiskilled engineer will play a key role in ensuring our equipment at the Burton Latimer and Corby sites is well-maintained and continually improved through proactive maintenance activities. From time to time, you might also have the opportunity to assist with reactive engineering support on the plant, adding variety to your role!

The purpose of this role is

  • Carry out planned maintenance and manage shutdown activities at our locations in Burton Latimer and Corby. This includes a range of tasks such as servicing, repairs, overhauls, and condition-based monitoring, among others.
  • Follow our company practices, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that health & safety, food safety, and legal compliance are maintained at all times.
  • Supervise external contractors who provide extra support for planned maintenance activities (like OEM services). It's important to make sure they understand and adhere to our company practices, procedures, and rules.
  • Report and escalate any equipment issues discovered during planned maintenance activities to the relevant teams.
  • Look for opportunities to enhance the reliability of our assets and improve engineering processes.
  • Get involved in improvement projects by identifying engineering root causes and executing continuous improvement action items.
  • Utilise the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) effectively to log and review the work completed.
  • Provide training and support for transitioning basic engineering tasks to operator responsibilities.

Requirements

Non-negotiables

  • Hold a recognised Engineering Qualification or apprenticeship
  • Display good time management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Demonstrable mechanical and electrical competence through training and experience.
  • Excellent IT skills to include use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems
