Engineering Manager

Description:

Accountable for the long-term integrity, health and technical performance of the assets at Connahs Quay. Devising and directing engineering plans and programmes integral to the fleet and sites Business Plans and contributing to the future innovations for the asset and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Directing Engineering strategies, policies and procedures to achieve measured asset performance as defined in the Business Plan and measured Engineering performance (financial, availability, efficiency, Health & Safety (H&S), environmental, Management Instructions and audit compliance, etc.).
  • Working with the Exec Team to establish a medium to long term vision and strategy for the assets aligned to the overall Gas Turbine Fleet vision.
  • Responsible for delivering asset outages and supporting the Maintenance Strategy manager and Production Manager in liaising with Uniper Global Commodities (UGC) to maximise value and availability.
  • Responsible for developing and improving relationships with the functionally steered structures of Uniper including Energy Asset Management.
  • Provide visible safety leadership as part of the sites Executive Leadership Team, through proactive actions and developing a continuous improving safety culture.
  • Ensure that plant Environmental systems and operational safety systems are effective and compliant with statutory and company requirements and that the plant operates within its environmental limits.
  • Directing Engineering and long term maintenance strategies, policies and procedures to achieve target asset performance as defined in the Business Plan and measured Engineering performance (financial, availability, efficiency, H&S, environmental, Management Instructions and audit compliance, etc.).
  • Ensuring best practice is employed by networking and benchmark comparisons with other plant, to achieve optimum levels of revenue and capital expenditure.
  • Managing the preparation of contract specifications and the subsequent delivery of these contracts.
  • Supporting the production of suitable Business and Long-Term Investment plans.
  • Ensuring that site services are maintained at good value for money.
  • Managing the design and delivery of technically complex projects.
  • Establish a development plan for members of the engineering team to grow their competence and potential.

 

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge and experience of Power Plant operations
  • Demonstrable leadership capability
  • B.Eng/relevant degree in Engineering
  • C.Eng or working towards professional registration
  • NEBOSH
  • Budget and Contract Management experience
