Odqa is now at a very exciting stage and looking to take the next step in its evolution. We are growing and have a fantastic opportunity for a Stress Engineer  to join our team.  This role will report directly into the Principal Engineer - Simulation and will be at the forefront of providing stress, vibration, and heat transfer analysis of our mechanical systems and components.

For this position we would love it if:

  • You are a recent graduate or equally an industry experienced engineer within a stress analysis discipline.

  • You can be resourceful and are not afraid to use your own initiative or ask for help!
  • You have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

If the above sounds like YOU this could be the opportunity that you have been looking for.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the technical oversight of stress analysis for all research and development programs.
  • Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods.
  • Support associated testing.
  • Solve frame dynamics problems through conducting stress analysis and test for our structures.
  • Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory (analytical correlations and complex finite element methods) and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems.

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field with emphasis on stress analysis.
  • Experience of working in a similar industry on stress analysis
  • A strong understanding of materials, alloys, strength, stiffness, stresses, vibrations, resonances, mechanical, acoustic and shock loads.
  • Working knowledge of FEM software for simulation and analysis of complex structures is  (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Attention to detail with good judgement.
  • Ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks and priorities, whilst remaining calm and productive under pressure.

  • A ‘Can Do’ attitude – doing what is needed for the business and helping to achieve our goals.

As one of our earlier team members you will define the technical success of the Company as much as its values and culture. We would therefore strongly recommend you send your CV with covering letter detailing why you are the right person for this role to talent@odqa.com.
