We have an exciting opportunity to join the engineering division in the School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering. This will see you provide technical support and supervision to a range of research activities within the department. As a Technical Supervisor in research, your current skills will be utilised to manufacture, assemble, install and machine bespoke components to various specifications as well as co-ordinating a small team of technicians. Training in all aspects of the role will be given but an enthusiasm for delivering a high-quality service to our staff and research projects is essential.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience in the field of automotive, mechanical assembly and/or electrical/electronic engineering.

• Machine and mechanical assembly skills including the use of lathes and milling machines.

• Some fabrication knowledge.

• Have a good understanding of Health and Safety.

• Be self-motivated to work individually and able to contribute as part of a team.

• Able to accurately communicate technical information to a range of audiences.

This permanent role is full time, 37 hours a week, with a generous paid 5 weeks starting annual leave entitlement in addition to bank holidays and pension scheme. This role is based in our modern teaching and research facilities on our Moulsecoomb campus.
